Dear Mayor of London
I read no long ago how problematic are becoming the increasingly frequent discharges of sewage in the river Thames. Apparently, the only action taken at the moment is from Thames Water and their plans to build the so called 'super-sewer' of the 'Thames Tunnel'. This company seems to be working very hard towards the promotion of such an idea in order to tackle the current problem, but yet, this massive engineering project would not sort out the actual cause of the problem itself, which to my mind is the actual discharge of our own human waste through our sewers.

Please, do read this article in the blog 'Low-tech Magazine, which I think will explain much better that I could possibly do the reasons to act against the root of the problem rather than to try to cure some of the symptoms. The proposed ideas are basically to install vacuum sewer system in each household in London in order to remove our excrements from the sewer system, which could in turn be composted and used as fertiliser and save water and energy in the the process, as well as avoiding the discharge in the first place.

I am not an expert in the area, but it seems foolish to me to pay an astronomical amount of money to this company for a project will ultimately benefit them more as a company (they will continue to sell us precious water that is wasted with our excrements down the drains) than it would benefit London and its citizens, as the new super sewer will not only allow everyone to continue waste the resource of our own manure, but it will make the system more difficult to change once the expenditure is made.

I would assume that your office may have already consider the options outlined here, as there may be very strong reasons for not taking them into account, but if that was not the case, I would really appreciate if you could take some minutes to consider my comments and/ or pass them to your advisors.

Yours sincerely
