The super sewer will not stop the discharge of sewage into the river Thames

According to this BBC report (and it is not the first time I read a similar story), there will still be a huge amount of raw sewage discharge into the river Thames after the construction of the tunnel. The report concludes by saying that up to two and a half million tons of raw sewage will still be going into the Thames!!!

What is the point of such a huge investment if, after all the trouble it will create (not to mention a step backwards towards a more sustainable society), it will not serve the purpose for what it was created for!!!
